Yes, disrupting the flame propagation wave in gas phase combustion. Neat idea, unusable for structural or wildland firefighting.

Have about five of them in a line a quarter-mile wide going into a nasty Dresden-like fire in northern Saskatchewan. Conventional smoke jumpers could follow.

This is something both Red Green and his nephew Harold could appreciate.

Now that I think of it, using it in conjunction with conventional firefighters would work. It could chug along, smoosh a fire, then go another few meters while the crews behind it spend the time needed to do suppression work to keep it from flaring up again. This would be useful for municipal areas like Fort Smith.
