I had no idea Japan was this interested or involved. Thanks, Wes!

Thank you Wes, I had read the announcement of Terra Drone working with and raising money for Ukraine. Reading your article is a marvelous eye opener.

I realize I don’t know far more than I do know but I love Japan so far. I visited there and have been watching and it was the best run shit I’ve ever seen. I mean it was remarkable. And all this on its surface is amazing. I realize women are treated poorly, allegedly and likely true, but if Japan is doing the right thing here, major kudos.

I’ve always been fascinated with Japan, but I’ve never been personally. I took Kendo when I was a kid. I’d love to visit sometime soon.

Would make a great trip to celebrate getting through law school!

As an American woman living in Tokyo, I can say that women are not treated "perfectly" but definitely better than any MAGA man would treat them with abortion bans, etc.

Women can also move up in the military. While there are not a lot of the highest-ranking officers yet, Japanese women have the opportunity, which "Kegsteth" is taking away from American women.

"Electric propulsion, 300 kilometers per hour top speed, 32-kilometer range (about 186 mph and a roughly 20-mile range for my American readers"

Thanks for the translation Wes!

As I was writing, I said shit, I need to add the mph for John 😆 but the reality is, there are likely many more readers who appreciate you speaking up.

Australia made the change from imperial to metric in 1971. I was half-way through primary school. Switching was pretty easy due the simplicity of decimals and consistency of SI units. We just had to memorise all those rough conversions! 1km ~ 2/3 mile...

Uhm… so… how massive will the “Ukrainian Military-Industrial Complex™” be by 2040s…?

Never mind millions. Trying to wrap my head about billions (USD-eqv) sales, annually.

They’ve been chatting with about fifty nations who are looking for alternatives to USA’s collapsing military contractors who are simply stupid, breaking contract and failing to provide ammunition as per schedule. Then there’s those overpriced and underperforming not-ready-for-primetime American-made drones.

Whereas Ukrainian-built drones are field tested. And there’s testimonials from leaked Russian howling about how effective those weapons are in frustrating efforts to conquer Ukraine.

More than that, their drones are much more dynamic in deployment and those various models better at scalability for better fits to tactical circumstances.

No need for a sledgehammer to kill a mosquito. Nor a nuke to destroy a platoon of light infantry. Next time a belligerent neighboring dictatorship rolls hot across the border, destroy their armored vehicles in 48 hours, shoot any overly gung-ho officers in the head, send the miserable rank-n-file home instead of taking ‘em as POWs.

Heck, there will be snarky sales pitches on YouTube in fifty different languages. Here’s just one:

Ask Your Grandma!

Choice of spending $102.1 million for one shiny new fifth

generation fighter F-35C.

Or ten thousand drones. Any twenty of which can wreck an F-35. Then send a cease ‘n desist message via the other nine thousand nine hundred and eighty.

{ visuals of a single airframe smoldering on runway; dictator’s palace in ruins; smashed convoy of armored vehicles; hovering swarm of thousands of drones; }

Likely as their sales taglines?

“Ukrainian Drones For The Win.”

“Defeating Evil Empires Since 2022”

“Victory Cheaply Achieved.”

“Repelling Invaders Since 2022”

“Who Needs Aircraft Carriers? Why Build A Ten Gigabuck Slow Moving Target?”

“Why Waste A Nuke?”

Wow. This is significant indeed and should warrant major media attention. Thanks for the great reporting.

Pretty interesting, a bit sad that it's Japan and not Europe leading the trend, but still good someone is.

I guess Taiwan is looking with great attention too.
