Rob, I'm sure that there are plenty of service members that don't have much use for Trump and his minions. But I'm not sure its as debilitating as it might seem. Most Americans think that soldiers fight for their country. In the abstract, that's true! But the real truth is soldiers actually fight for one another. What do I mean by that?
Let me give you an Army infantry example. When you're facing the enemy, and you're dug in to a foxhole, the only thing you have is the guy to your right and the guy on your left. You're putting your life in their hands and they're putting their lives in yours. Now it's true they're all fighting for their country, but they're really fighting for each other to stay alive and kill the enemy. I think it was Patton that said that no soldier ever won a war by dying for his country. He won the war by making the other guy die for his country! I'm quite sure however that there are plenty of really pissed off people but I'm not sure it affects our combat power.
Wes, we should all be furious. This administration has willfully cut out allies and ignored intelligence that would help preserve US assets as well as the lives of US personnel. Adm Kimmel and Gen Short in the wake of Pearl Harbor were court martialed for what happened despite having far less intelligence to work with. Trump and Hegseth should be immediately impeached and hauled before Congress for what amounts to a combination of dereliction of duty and or out right treason for how the whole Iran operation has been conducted. To willfully allow the kill chain to be completed while ignoring or encouraging it is beyond the pale.
